Here are a short list of free websites which you absolutely must stop by on your way to advanced training.
- Part one This is a great source for notes. He’s really clear and it’s the whole syllabus. Enjoy.
- icuprimaryprep.com This is the source we all used. The usefulness of his site, inspired the writing of this one
- derangedphysiology.com There is no better online “textbook” for ICU

- The NNT This is a really excellent look at a pretty decent array of interventions, asking the most important question. How helpful is this? Ever wondered how useful TEDS were? Check here.
- Critical Care Reviews
- The Bottom Line These guys will give you short critical appraisals of significant studies. “What was the criticism of CRASH-2?” go here.
- Research and Reviews R&R in the FastLane, from the always prolific guys at from Perth on Life in the fast lane.
- PulmCCM Not just pulmonary stuff, this is a great source for reviews of the critical care literature
- Bubble Wrap. It’s from the guys at dontforgetthebubbles.com so it’s a great summary of paediatric critical care (mostly ED) stuff with a clinical “Why does it matter?” Section at the end of each summary.
Blogs and websites worth bookmarking.
- Primary LO of the day These guys are ANZCA focussed, but they will drop you almost daily emails with MCQs and SAQs to sink your teeth into, just in case you don’t have enough
- The Intensive Care Network These guys are the original primary resource for ICU stuff, talks, conferences (I mean, the started SMACC so…) and they just don’t stop.
- Don’t Forget the Bubbles There is a powerhouse of ED/ICU paediatric guys from Brissy. The give short to the point up to date little summaries.
