Below is a growing list of notes from people just like yourself who have pushed through the books and tried to condense the syllabus into just a few hundred pages.
They’re all heroic efforts and you can be assured that each one of these people has passed or will pass because they did the leg work. If you just go off this, you might pass. I’m putting them up here for two reasons. Firstly, the idea of ritualistic burning of this number of hours of work once you get through cause a visceral reaction.
More importantly, these resources can be looked at as guide for how deep to go with your own reading. While we’re not part of the examination process, careful review of the college feedback gives the impression that these notes overshoot the required depth. I would rather be on that side of the divide and I expect you would too?
Notes from Candidates:
These are great. Credit has been given when possible. If I have it wrong, let me know.
These are from mixed anaesthetic ICU candidates, the syllabus is very, very similar, ignore them at your peril.
Notes from the Web:
The following links come from departmental sites or pay sites. That doesn’t make them better.
- Partone
- Finnis Notes
- ICU Primary Prep
- CritIQ (paid – most departments I’ve worked in “used to have a log in”, ask your boss)
If you have put in the massive effort of writing something for the syllabus and would like to contribute, please drop us a line. This is about helping others clear the barrier (and not pointlessly burning all those hours of effort you made on your notes in some post exam cathartic episode of pyromania!).
